HINOMIYA "kiriko" — porcelain in the highest-grade clay, carved with the auspicious shippō-tsunagi (interlocking circles) pattern in a kiriko style. Light passes through the relief. Pressure-cast forming, 3D-data carving by Hijiri Tougane, finished by Shota Miyashita. The motif carries wishes for descendants, ties between people, and harmonious relationships.

§ Shipping

We ship worldwide from our studio in Mino, Japan. Pieces in stock typically ship within a few days; made-to-order works take longer, and we will email you the estimated dispatch date after your order. Outside Japan: you pay for the piece now, and the shipping fee (EMS or Yamato International, chosen by the actual packed size and weight) is confirmed after packing and sent to you by email as a separate payment link. Import duties or taxes, if any, are paid by the recipient. Within Japan: Yamato region-based shipping from ¥920 (incl. packaging, size surcharge applies), free on orders over ¥20,000 (tax included).

§ Care

When using metal cutlery, faint pencil-like grey marks (so-called "metal marks") may appear on the surface of the ware. This does not affect the quality of the piece. We recommend a melamine sponge or citric acid for cleaning. Oven-safe up to 150°C; never over an open flame.

§ Return

Each piece is made entirely by hand, and the formation of glaze crystals and surface scenery — along with size, color, expression, texture, and tonal density — varies from piece to piece. These individual differences are the very charm of handwork and are not grounds for return. Returns are not accepted except in the case of defects.

The Edo Kiriko motif transferred to porcelain

The "shippō-tsunagi" (interlocking circles) is an auspicious pattern symbolizing relationships and harmony between people. The HINOMIYA series uses Japan's finest porcelain clay, with kiriko-style carving rendered through pressure casting and 3D data technology. Fired pure and meticulously polished, the carving allows light to pass through.

§ VI. On variations

Each vessel is unlike any other.

Every piece is made entirely by hand. The formation of glaze crystals and surface scenery — along with size, color, expression, texture, and tonal density — varies from piece to piece. Even within the same named glaze, each vessel carries its own landscape. These individual differences are the very charm of handwork and are not grounds for return. We hope you will enjoy these landscapes throughout your time spent with the piece.
