N° 02
Definition of Personal Information
"Personal information" means information about a living individual that can identify a specific person by name, address, telephone number, email address, or similar identifiers, including information that can be readily combined with other information to identify a specific individual (Article 2 of the Japanese Act on the Protection of Personal Information).
N° 03
Information We Collect
When you place an order, send an inquiry, or subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name, address, telephone number, email address, shipping details, and payment information. Payment details (such as credit card numbers) are processed by our payment service providers and are not retained by ART BIRTH Inc.
N° 04
Purpose of Use
Personal information collected is used for the following purposes: (1) accepting orders, processing payments, and shipping products; (2) responding to inquiries; (3) sending newsletters and information about new works (only to those who have consented); (4) analysis to improve our services; (5) measuring the effectiveness of advertising and delivering advertisements; (6) compliance with applicable laws and proper conduct of business.
N° 05
Cookies & Analytics
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies (browser storage such as local storage) for site functions such as the cart, and for the analytics and advertising measurement described in the next section, "Analytics & Advertising Measurement". You can disable them in your browser settings, but some features may not be available if you do so.
N° 06
Analytics & Advertising Measurement
We use the following tools and technologies to improve our site and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
(1) Referral Records
When you visit our site through a link in an advertisement, a social media post, or a similar source that carries referral information (such as utm_source), we store the referral source, the first page you opened, and the date and time on your device (in your browser) for up to 90 days. If you place an order or submit the OEM / custom-order inquiry form, this information is recorded together with your order or inquiry and used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and social media and to understand how you found us. In addition, we store on your device, for up to 90 days, the domain name of the site you were viewing immediately before arriving at our site (for example, google.com — this does not include the page address or any search terms you used), together with the first page you opened and the date and time. This information reaches us, together with your message, only if you submit our OEM / custom-order inquiry form, and we use it to understand how you found us. None of this information includes your name, email address, or similar details, and it is erased when you delete your browser's site data.
(2) Meta Pixel and Conversions API (Meta Platforms, Inc.)
We use the Meta Pixel to measure and deliver advertising on Facebook and Instagram. We may use pixels, web beacons, cookies, and other storage technologies from third parties, including Meta, to collect or receive information from our site and elsewhere on the internet, and third parties, including Meta, use that information to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads. The Meta Pixel sends Meta your actions on our site, such as viewing pages and products, adding items to your cart, and starting checkout, together with your IP address and browser information. In addition, once payment for an order has been confirmed, our server sends Meta the purchase information (the amount and products, together with the IP address, browser information, and Meta Pixel cookie identifiers recorded when the order was placed) through the Conversions API. Your email address, telephone number, name, and parts of your address (such as postal code and country) are not sent as they are: they are converted into an unreadable form (hashed) before being sent, and Meta uses them to match the information with Meta accounts. If you do not want this information to be used for ad targeting, you can change your choices in Meta's Ad Preferences (Accounts Center for Facebook and Instagram).
(3) Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation)
To make our site easier to use, we use Microsoft Clarity. Using cookies and similar technologies, Clarity records how you interact with our pages, such as clicks, scrolling, and mouse movements, along with what is displayed on the screen, so that we can analyze it as heatmaps and session replays. Text you type into input fields is masked before it is recorded and is not sent to Microsoft. Microsoft may collect and use this information, which may include personal information, to provide Clarity, to provide Microsoft Advertising (its advertising service), and to improve its products and services.
For visits from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we do not use referral records, the Meta Pixel, or Microsoft Clarity. We also do not send order information to Meta for orders shipped to these countries or regions.
Information sent to Meta and Microsoft may be processed on servers outside Japan, including in the United States. For details on how each company handles your information and how to change your settings, please see the following pages.

N° 07
Disclosure to Third Parties & Outsourcing
We will not disclose personal information to third parties without your consent. However, we may share information with service providers to the extent necessary to perform shipping (e.g., Yamato Transport), payment processing (payment service providers), email distribution, site delivery (e.g., Cloudflare), and data storage (Google Firebase). We supervise such providers appropriately. The information we send to Meta and Microsoft for analytics and advertising measurement is described in the previous section, "Analytics & Advertising Measurement".
N° 08
International Transfers
In connection with our use of services such as Cloudflare (site delivery), Google Firebase (data storage), Resend (email delivery), our payment service providers, Meta, and Microsoft, some of your information may be processed on servers located outside Japan, including in the United States. The personal information protection systems of those countries may differ from those of Japan. For how each provider handles your information, please refer to its privacy policy.
N° 09
Data Security
We implement necessary and appropriate security measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information. We also provide ongoing training and awareness programs for our staff regarding the proper handling of personal information.
N° 10
Retention Period
Order-related information is retained for the period required under tax and corporate law (up to 10 years). Inquiry records are deleted approximately 3 years after the matter is resolved. Newsletter subscription data is retained until the subscriber unsubscribes.
N° 11
Your Rights
You have the right to request disclosure, correction, suspension of use, deletion, and disclosure of third-party provision records regarding the personal information we hold about you. Requests may be sent to artbirth.jp@gmail.com and will be handled after we have verified your identity.
